In this activity, my students are going to use AbcYa! Story Maker to create a storybook using 5 of their

vocabulary words for this week.

 Activity During reading/writing block students will start
activity by grabbing their word work folders, (each
student has their own folder that has their own set of
words that they work with each week.)
Students will select 5 words that they would like to
use for the activity.
Students will use the chromebooks to access ABCya!
Story Maker, and will follow the instructions to create
their own storybook using the five selected words.
The students will create 6 pages total:
First page will be a title Page with their name.
The other five pages students will create a sentence
with each of their five words. Each page will have a
sentence with one of their selected words.

Example: If dog is one of their selected words, then a

page could say: “The dog is big.”

Students will also write the vocab word being used in

the sentence underneath the sentence.

Example: “The dog is big”.

When finished with their sentences students then can

create an illustration to go with each page of their
book.

When finished with the sentence and illustration,

it.
