Grade Level: Kindergarten

Lesson Source: Based on Kasey Rowbury’s kindergarten letter of the day lesson

Concepts: Learn what the letter P sounds like, looks like, and how to write it. 

Objectives: Students will be able to:

1. Write the letter P in upper and lowercase form.

2. Identify appropriate spaces in-between letters.

3. Discover and identify what the letter P looks like in upper and lower case form.

4. Discover what sound the letter P makes.

5. Produce words that start with the letter P

Idaho State Standards: HW.K.1 Write upper and lowercase letters of the alphabet. a. Write left

to right, top to bottom, with appropriate spaces between words.

Materials List and Advanced Preparations:

 Pencil

 White Board

 White Board marker


Prepared materials

 Copies of worksheet so each student can have one
