Once you have your timber cut to these sizes you’re ready to start
building your box. You will need a few nails and wood glue to make
a strong box, you may want to think about adding some hinges,
these weren’t on the original but would make this box into a nice
storage box for your bits & bobs.
Building your box.

1. Start by making sure you know where all the parts are going,
you don’t want to use the wrong piece of timber and have to
pull your box apart.
2. Assemble the box front, back & sides. These are just butt
jointed, Glued and nailed.

3. Glue and nail the bottom two panels onto this assembly
4. Now assemble the lid, by gluing and pinning the two bracing
strips to the inside of the lid pieces. (The original would not
have had these bracings but this helps make a useful box)

5. Your crate build is complete, simple eh.

6. Now align your stencils onto the ends top and side mask up
any areas that may get over painted, lightly mist spray, roller
or paint through, to achieve the desired effect.
7. When dry peel off stencils and you are ready to go.
