Noteflight Introduction

What’s all this junk anyway?...

~Today I will explore digital notation software
~So that I can create my own sheet music, in a digital format.
~I will know I have it when I can create a 4 measure melody on Noteflight.

DIRECTIONS:
1) Create an account on Noteflight (if you already have one setup then you are all set!)

2) We will be using a website called noteflight so you can write your own music.
Today, I'm going to walk you through creating a simple melody using this website.
You are going to create a 4 measure melody, by following the steps below:

See below for requirements, highlighted in blue

Step 1 “CREATE”- select “start from a blank score sheet”

Step 2 Piano setup is default. You need to know how to add/delete parts or instruments
*Select “parts” in top ribbon

*Add instrument of your choice (not percussion)

*Delete piano

Step 3 Add key signature

*In the ribbon, click the icon with the 3 sharps

*Add a key signature of your choice

Step 4 Add time signature

*Next to the key signature icon, click icon with time
signature of ¾
 *Add a time signature of your choice.

Step 5 Complete tasks with Ms. Morrison.

*Insert an empty measure between each task.

Step 6 HAVE FUN EXPLORING!

DUE TODAY-

*Input 4 measures of notes.

Rhythms- At least 1 of the following: half note, quarter note, barred eighth notes.

Include key signature, time signature.

Must also have: Title, composer (you)

Step 6 SUBMIT
*You should have a total of 10 measures
(2- scale, 1- empty, 2-copied song, 1-empty, 4- your own melody)
