Overview on Classroom Management

How I facilitate the learning process is through successful classroom management.

Successful classroom management is determined on a teacher’s ability to facilitate a safe, and

open environment for the students to explore their passions and love for education. A teacher

must be equip with an array of learning styles and strategies to facilitate the learning process of

the unique children set in their path and have a multitude of motivational strategies that push

students to pursue higher learning. Rigidity and hostility in the learning environment may indeed

make a managed classroom but deter students from having a passion for learning. Learning is

done in an environment where students feel respected and where their ideas and creativity is

accepted. The execution of a classroom management plan, a well mapped out, appropriate plan is

the salvation of a teacher, however it is important to remember this plan is no law you will not be

prosecuted if not followed. A Classroom management plan like children is unique, it can be

changed and adjusted to accommodate for the children you must cater for at that time and what

meshes best with the beliefs you hold as a teacher. Classroom management is more than beliefs,

it is hard work, we can want the best our students and expect the best but to have that we must

consider a multitude of factors as: room arrangement, classroom rules, rewards, consequences,

classroom procedure and routines. That being the tip of the iceberg having them work is our job.

Goals for Students

How do I prepare students to use the knowledge learned in class to solve real-world problems? It

is most important to remember Spanish is not a subject but a language. In order to prepare

students to appropriately apply information, students need to practice utilizing information

thought in the course and be reinforced in the language by making it their new regular as ti

should be all that is spoken for that class period. Teaching students about a situation where prior

knowledge might be useful can be tricky which is why it is important that while teaching you

relate the knowledge to current situations that they can relate to now they must understand as

well as you do how important the Spanish language is to learn considering we sit in the middle

of all Latin countries. Rather than having students perform the typical class assessments having

them work in groups or alone to solve the problem given, incorporate communicative activities

so students can continue to practice the language. therefore applying the information than simply

memorizing it. Practice in applying their knowledge is key.

Student-Teacher Relationship

How do I support students in their learning? The layout of a classroom, the organization,

is just as important as the material that will be thought. Without a proper layout kayos is sure to

ensue. Keeping high-traffic areas free of congestion, being sure students can be seen easily by

the teacher, keeping frequently used teaching materials and student supplies readily accessible

and be certain students can easily see whole-class presentations and displays are aspects of the

layout that must be considered and done effectively. A teacher’s beliefs and preferences can be

manipulated into the layout. I personally stand by Lev Vygotsky’ s scaffolding in children

theory, however, believe large groups are messy therefore my seating arrangement will be

paired, allowing scaffolding to occur and no scrambling when it is time for group work. When

students feel they are catered for and comfortable with a clutter free environment learning can

then be their first priority.

Integration of Responsibilities

How has my research influenced my teaching? It is impossible to say what my style is but

what can be said are is what I find to be most important from the knowledge I have gathered thus

far. Respect is a two-way street, you are not meant to be a dictator rules work better when the

students feel they have a say, consequences are meant to teach a lesson not to punish, procedures

make life easier, school is not only about academics and being a teacher is not your only job title.

Teaching is learning I can only hope to do better as a teacher to enlighten the minds of my

students. My teaching influences my classroom management though my creativity and passion.

My eyes will never be closed to the problems that arise and there will never be a dull moment or

easy way out.

Implementation of the Philosophy

How do I create a safe and supportive learning environment for students? Building a relationship

with your students is the best way to create a safe and supportive environment. Allowing

students to feel comfortable in the situation where they are taken our of their comfort zone. there

are however a multitude of aspects that affect the outcome of the classroom environment.

Ensuring the students know that you take responsibility when you are wrong, having them know

that they are free to have an opinion Spanish is a course where many students have to take a huge

step out of their comfort zone. Students must gain confidence and from you highlight those

mistakes made by you as teachable moments, students will see there is no harm in it.

Professional Growth Plan

What kinds of activities take place in my classroom? I myself have many a times dreaded the

class due to the boring nature it is typically thought in. The memorization of dates, laws and

every influential historical figure is nothing to look forward to. I aspire to have a dynamic class,

where tests are few and you are graded on your creativity and capability to perform what Is

learned not only be expected to write it on paper. The four language skills should be developed,

and I would like to see that happen. My ideas are limitless, and I plan to being excitement back

to class where naps are taken.
