About Course
About the Animation Program

The aim of this course is to expose the students to the fundamental concepts in art and design. This
course will establish a strong artistic foundation and will help the students to explore their creative
abilities and advance their pursuit in the direction of digital production or advanced art education.
Students are introduced to pencil drawing, observation, measuring the subject and understanding
the proportions. The student shall understand the core concepts of perspective, dynamic sketching
and color theory. Throughout this course the student shall work on several projects ranging from
household objects, props and environments. The student shall also compile a mini portfolio of
selected artworks.

Program Details:

1. How will I be evaluated through this Art foundation course?


Students shall be assessed through regular peer feedback and grading of assignments and
projects.

2. What certificate will I receive?


Students shall receive Professional certification Program from Digital Academy 360 and Jain

3. What is the course structure?


The PCP in Foundations of Art is a 6 month course offered in both offline and online mode.

4. What kind of career assistance will I get?


One dedicated placement officer will be assigned and he/she will be one point of contact
until you get placed. Our officer will help you in choosing the right job and companies.

5. Do I have to attend classes every week?


Yes. Classes are usually scheduled from Monday to Friday every week.

6. How much attendance should I maintain?


85% attendance is required along with coursework (classwork, assignments and projects)
completion.

Module Content:

1. What kind of software will I learn?


The software is just a tool (like pencil) that lets you practice your core skills. You will be
learning relevant software according to the entertainment industry.

2. Why should I learn traditional drawing skills?


Traditional drawing and painting skills are applied in the animation industry through digital
tools.

3. What if I miss a few classes?


A large part of this course is concerned with practicals. If classes are missed due to some
reasons, you can update the concepts from the Learning Management System. You must put
in extra efforts to complete the practicals.

4. Is it necessary to create a demo reel to complete the course?


Yes. A demo reel (art portfolio / show reel) is a video clip showcasing your skills. It is
important as companies will offer you jobs subject to the quality of your demo reel only.

5. Is a high end computer necessary for this course?


This course involves software that deals with 2D and 3D graphics and therefore they are
heavily dependent on high end computer hardware. A high end desktop/laptop is necessary
to complete the coursework and projects. See system requirements on this page for more
information.

6. Will I learn 2D and 3D animation?


The principles of animation shall be taught using digital 2D. The student is expected to
practice and graduate the 2D art skills to 3D animation.

7. Will I learn motion capture animation?


Sorry. Motion capture is not confined to the scope of this course.

must.

The following materials must be procured by the student before the commencement
of the classes.
★ A4 sketchbook (50 pages, 120 GSM or more) - 1 nos.
★ Set of drawing pencils (HB,2B,4B,6B,8B)
★ Eraser (preferably kneadable eraser)
★ Sharpener, cutter and a 12 inch ruler

★ 24 set color pencil (Faber Castell or Steadtler or DOMS preferred)
★ Black ball pen
★ Poster colors (12 colors box)
★ Point brush (0,2,8 and 10) and flat brush (2,6,8)
★ Geometry box(including compass, protractor, set squares and divider)

Minimum requirements (For Online classes)


Because the courses are conducted online, the student must have a computer
(laptop/desktop), mouse, keyboard, headphone, a functioning webcam along with a reliable
broadband internet connection. A regular notebook and pen for note taking is a must.
