Professional Objectives
I am currently developing various social-emotional art workshops and would like to partner with schools,
groups and institutions to offer these to their students. After I clear my credential, I would like to finish my M.Ed.
with an emphasis in Teaching & Learning in a Global Society. I would also like to partner with anti-racist
organizations and individuals to continue the work of decolonizing the classroom from the inside out.
Work Experience
Youth Program Coordinator/ International Travel & Trips Associate January 2006-February 2008
Open Doors USA Santa Ana, CA
• Developed, planned and executed all youth and student program activities and campaigns,
including youth trips, camps, campaigns; managed all databases, progress reports and records;
researched and wrote extensively
• Planned and Coordinated the itineraries and travel details for various international donor trips
Field Director & Program Manager/ Arts & Communication Coordinator March 2005-January 2007
Obangatek Development Association Costa Mesa, CA/ Lira, Uganda, Africa
• Created and managed research projects for planning and developing “Obangatek” (a children’s
home in Lira, Uganda); conducted analysis and evaluations, wrote development reports and donor
updates
• Developed a program that taught street children from Obangatek self-expression through the media
of art and photography, and displayed and sold their work in various galleries to raise funds for them
Additionally (paid & volunteer): Seven-week program teaching English to high school and college students in
Zi’an, China; Two-week service in Romanian orphanage; Summer internship at an at-risk youth after school
program in Richmond; development and education projects in Uganda, Belize, Mexico, Honduras, Spain,
Greece and Tanzania
