Learning Objectives:

Students will be able to define hardware and identify the basic parts of a computer.

Students will begin to learn the difference between hardware and software.

Classroom Material: Zoom software, canvas learning material, textbook Computer

Basics, Wordle website, quizzlet, padlet, video to explain the computer parts

definition.

Pre-teaching activity:

Create a Wordle using the word Computer parts, create a tinyurl and write it on the

board. Asking students to go to the tinyurl link to write down the computer parts list

they know. This activity will take about 5-8 minutes.

Direct Instruction:

The teacher will discuss with the students which items on the list are parts of a

computer. Then talked about the definitions of the computer parts by following the

textbook outline. After then, students will have a discussion of the difference of the

hardware and software. Then the teacher will play a video which explained the

definitions of the computer parts.

Guided Practice:

Under the teacher’s instruction, students will organize the information of what they

have learned into a padlet. The teacher will ask students to check the extension

learning material from the canvas if they complete the padlet earlier.

Assessment:
A quizlet quiz will be given during the end of the class to check students’ learning and

see if the students reach the learning objectives.
