The St. Helen family of parishioners is invited to get
together via Zoom, every Friday, 6:30 to 8 p.m. for an
ongoing 10-week series of films and faith discussions
that will help to keep us as a parish connected.
We will watch amazing spiritually relevant videos
and break away into small groups to safely and freely
discuss what the film has offered us for contemplation.

 SIXTH SUNDAY OF EASTER
The gift of the Holy Spirit was poured out even on the
Gentiles. (Acts 10)
Whoever does not love does not know God, for God is
love. (1 John 4)
No one has greater love than this, to lay down one’s life
for one’s friends. (John 15)
This is the commandment that Jesus
to us who would be his Church: to
love one another as Jesus, God made
human, has loved us: As Christ gave
himself for others, we are to imitate
his example of service to others; as
Christ brought healing and peace into
the lives of those he encountered, we
are to bring that same healing and
peace into the many lives we touch; as Christ revealed
to the world a God who loves humanity as a parent
loves his children, we are to love one another as
brothers and sisters.
Christ transforms creation’s relationship with its
Creator. God is not the distant, aloof, removed
architect of the universe; God is not the cruel
taskmaster; God is not the unfeeling judge who seeks
the destruction of the wicked. God is creative,
reconciling, energizing love -- and Jesus is the perfect
expression of that love.
All that God has done in the first creation of Genesis
and the re-creation of Easter has been done out of the
limitless, unfathomable love of God. Such love invites
us not to fear God but to accept his “friendship” with
God, not to self-loathing at our unworthiness but to
grateful joy at what God has done in us.

of finance will work with governments to regulate the
financial sphere and protect citizens from its dangers.
Fr. Chris - 25 Years of Ordination
Silver Jubilee Celebratory Car Parade
This month Fr Chris will celebrate 25 years
since his ordination to the priesthood with a Mass
of Thanksgiving on Sunday May 30th @
11 a.m. Mass.
Fr. Chris was ordained to the priesthood on May
31st 1996 as a priest of the Diocese of Prince
Albert in Saskatchewan by then Bishop Blaise
Morand.
While at this time, we can’t have a proper
celebration since the coronavirus halted that
possibility, we still want to recognize this
important milestone in his priestly ministry. God
willing, we can have a proper celebration later on
when its safe to do so! So for now ...
Firstly - due to restrictions on gatherings and
the celebration of Mass, mindful of Covid
restrictions, we will celebrate his silver jubilee
with a CELEBRATORY CAR PARADE on
May 30th after the 11:00 a.m. Mass beginning at
noon. Everyone is welcome to drive by the
church, make some noise and offer your best
wishes!
Secondly, we invite you to email a personal
video message for Fr. Chris and if you have a
memorable picture to share as well, please send
them to frchris25th@sthelenscatholic.ca by
May 20th. Be sure to use this email only - we
will compile these for him as a keepsake.

what your donation is for; Sunday Offertory (SO), Facility Maintenance (FM) and
Building Fund (BF). (Please include your ID# in the memo - contact the office if you
do not have a parish ID.)
Example - SO $20 One transaction can be made for all three if you wish. Such a
notation could look like this: SO $xx, FM $xx, BF $xx. If your transaction does not
work the first time, please try the next day as the Diocese can only receive a set amount

COVID 19 pandemic
