 Learning objectives: -

In this lab we had learnt that how to verify ohm’s law by

taking the reading of resistance, current and voltage. We took the reading by
hand and also with the digital multimeter (DMM). We had first adjust the
voltage in basic trainer with the help of DMM and put the resistance on the
bread board and measure current and voltage. By applying formula, we
calculate power. The formula is P= VI.

 Verification of ohm’s law: -

First task we perform in lab was verification of ohm’s law.
In the lab manual we have different table in it in first table we had given the
resistance and voltage and calculate the current. Note that voltage change in
every next step resistance remain the same. And in second graph resistance
changes in every next step voltage remain the same.
i. For current vs voltage curve: -
First we calculate the resistance with the help of
chart and conformed with DMM by changing the knob of DMM to
ohm’s. then put the resistance on the terminal rails and adjust the
voltage of basic trainer with the help of knob and one wire of voltage
is connected to parallel to the terminal rail where the resistance is
attach and second wire was connected to ground other side of the
terminal rail with parallel to second leg of resistance and with the help
of DMM we measure the current and also calculate by hands. Their
voltage was different in every next step. And resistance remain the
same. Graph was attached at the end of the report.

 Procedure of power calculation: -
1. Power is series circuit: -
Diagram: -

Explanation: -
We connected the resistance according to circuit diagram given
above. Set the DC voltage with the help of knob of basic trainer
and check it with DMM by changing the DMM knob to voltage
and see is it correct or not and measure the total voltage of resisters
in series and single voltage across each resisters in series. Then we
measure the total current of the resister in series and single current
across each resister in series. Then we calculate power across each
resistance by applying power formula P=VI

 Conclusion: -
In this lab we have learn that how to find current, voltage and then
we calculate power with the help of power formula, the vale we calculate and
measure with had may vary and having some point difference between then and
we adjust voltage in basic trainer with help of knob see it value in digital
multimeter. That all we learn in lab 3.
