STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

My Name is KANCHARKUNTLA VINEETH REDDY. I have finished my Bachelor of

Technology in Mechanical Engineering as a field of specialization from a good reputed institute
“Tkr College of Engineering and Technology” with 64.2%.Through the course of my
Mechanical Engineering I did acquire a faint idea about the philosophy of any Engineering, an
incessant thriving towards making things better. Creative instinct, excellent fellowman and
perceptiveness are the very essence of Engineering. During my Under Graduation program, I
have learned various fundamentals in Mechanical field, and even have knowledge of computer
software’s like JavaScript and C Language. I am much interested in Information Systems, after
completion of my Under-graduation I realized that Graduate study is the only means of refining
my knowledge and skills in area of my interest. I believe it will also serve to give direction to my
goal of career in research oriented field.
In my high school, my keen interest in logically oriented subjects led me to take up Mathematics,
Physics, and Chemistry as my major subjects. In my twelfth grade, as part of my Physics project,
I had constructed logic gates and simple latches using basic circuit elements and was greatly
amazed by the potential of the electrical and electronics stream. Subsequently, I achieved high
scores in the tenth and twelfth grades securing 9.5GPA and 94.1% respectively. During 12 years
of schooling I have been ranked amongst the top 3% in the class. The extremely competitive
atmosphere and exciting undergraduate program at the college make me confident that I have the
aptitude with quality of perseverance and hard work to take up activities.
Engineering is a multi-dimensional course with extensive variety and flexibility. Apart from core
electrical subjects, my undergraduate curriculum was well integrated with diverse subjects like
Operation Research. The curriculum also comprised of management based subjects like
Managerial Economics &Financial Analysis (MEFA), Management Sciences. C and data
structures being a part of our regular course curriculum gave me ample ground level knowledge
on programming. With math’s, calculus and numerical methods being my favorite subjects, my
interest towards computer programming is elevated because there is an ample of opportunity to
implement logical thinking to analyze and solve any issues to achieve particular tasks. I further
carried this interest into later semesters of mine by learning core java, advanced java, oracle 11g,
SQL, PLSQL by effectively managing time and resources. Subsequently, I achieved high scores
in the tenth and twelfth grades securing 95% and 94.2% respectively.
Even though my major is in Mechanical Engineering, I have carefully nurtured my passion for
Management and Information Systems studied through journals and various articles, I was
involved in various extracurricular activities such as quizzes, workshops in my undergraduate
period. The experience of working with different programming languages like C, Python in
varied environments has given me a special confidence. My focuses has always been in attaining
the domain knowledge of the basics of Mechanical Engineering and also pursues and learn
several computers oriented or operated tools and software’s to effectively manage electronic
dynamics.
I was always intrigued about the excellent performance of computers and the complex tasks they
accomplish. Technology has changed our lives drastically and is going to shape our future for
centuries to come. In a very short period it has changed the way we have looked at things since
centuries. Hence my desire is to do Masters and continue my research work further with the
basic experiences gained in my under graduation.
Management Information Systems is a rapidly emerging field, which gives me ample knowledge
about Data Analytics. What started years ago with manual systems like Customer Databases and
Catalogues has evolved into modern concepts such as Predictive Data Mining. Rapid
developments in the field of Information Management have left me fascinated with MIS. To
keep up with the advancements in this field and prepare myself to meet the demanding standards
of this industry, I wish to pursue a graduate program in Management Information Systems from
In this competitive world of endless opportunities it is very difficult to choose the best place and
college to study. After a lot of research I came to know that USA is the best place to study
Masters and acquire deeper skills on my field of interest. US is one of the leading countries in
the field of technology and Computer Science, it has many reputed companies like Microsoft,
Google, Facebook, IBM, etc, were introduced in US and expanded throughout the world. Some
of the appealing characteristics of the country are its emphasis on a collaborative learning
environment, flexibility in curriculum, international exposure, research facilities and a globally
acceptable degree/certificate.
Northwest Missouri State University is one of the pioneer colleges in University, offering a
wide range of resources and opportunities to help graduate students succeed. Through innovation
and interdisciplinary programs, I am sure that I can gain the intellectual and professional skills at
Northwest Missouri State University that will prepare me for productive lives in a global,
knowledge-based environment and transforms me from “Jack of all, master of none” to “Master
of one”. I would like to add that the essence of college education lies in the synergetic
relationship between the student and the concerned department. I feel that graduate study at your
college will be the most logical extension of my academic pursuits and a major step towards
achieving my objectives. I am aware that the college expects very high standards from its
students and I am confident that with my strong determination, motivation and willingness to
work hard, I will be able to live up to the standards expected. The much valued graduate program
at your esteemed college together with my earnestness to learn is definitely going to develop in
me the skill set needed to excel. I would be grateful to you if I’m accorded the opportunity to

Finally, I would like to add here that my parents have always been a source of inspiration for me.
They have set me personal examples and ideals for me to follow. As a result of this, I believe
that over the years I have evolved into a person who can fit easily into a team and who
appreciates the value of discussions and exchanges of ideas. I am a largely self-regulated and am
capable of independent work. Given an opportunity, I am confident that, I will prove to be an
asset to the graduate program at your college.
