Engr. Cleofe Caidic made a backgrounder of the CHED Requirements and discussed the purpose of the
consultative meeting to the group which is very essential in acquiring the Certificate of Program
Compliance and the AACCUP Accreditation. The consultative meeting aims to determine the courses and
specific skills of the EE graduates that creates significant contribution to the industry.
1. Proposed Curriculum
Engr. C. Caidic discussed about the proposal of making some revisions to the new curriculum injecting
important courses that are significant in the industry considering that Filipino subjects could be replaced
by courses relevant to the program.
Engr. A. Balasbas suggested that the EE graduates should have a background in Information Technology
considering the technology advancements and dependence of all establishments to the internet in the
production and distribution of its products and services. EE Graduates should also be knowledgeable
about Power Systems Analysis & Design, Basic Occupational Safety and Health, EE Laws, Codes and
Professional Ethics, Electrical Standards and Practices, and likewise communications and Research. EE
students should be exposed in personality development, corporate dressing, and be active in extra-
curricular activities to develop their leadership skills and to be a team player. It would likewise be good if
the EE students will develop their technical skills.
Engr. F. Aguilon talked about the importance of having the needed knowledge and skills in Personnel
Management being the most complex and dynamic field, the attitude handling, effective leadership,
facilities planning, values and ethics, inventory management, and incident reporting.
Manuelito Diagro, a student representative aired about the courses that they found applicable and
important in performing their assigned tasks during their OJTs that includes 5S, inventory management,
facilities planning and design, risks assessment and analysis, safety management, human resource
management, industrial psychology, methods engineering, conduct of time study and motion study, and
accounting.
Ian Lause, a student representative added that systems engineering, total quality management,
scheduling, and planning are also applied in the performance of their duty during their OJT.
Engr. Gil T. Caidic raised that systems engineering, EE Laws, and Electrical Standards and Practices had
been valuable knowledge in performing the job in the industry.
Engr. F. Aguilon agreed to Engr. Gil T. Caidic and added that knowledge in the maintenance of machine
and computer fundamentals and programming is also important.
The group agreed that gen ed courses like ethics and contemporary world should be aligned with the
Electrical Engineering profession. EE Graduates should have the required competency in relation to the
program.
The program needs to have a review course for the Electrical Engineering Board Examination to help
augment the school passing percentage during the PRC Licensure exam. Everyone agreed to change the
general electives Environmental Science for EE, Living in the IT Era, and the Entrepreneurial Mind will be
proposed as replacement to the Filipino and literature course. Engr. Balasbas reiterated the need for
EE’s to be well oriented about Information Technology. Engr. Caidic pushed for the inclusion of the three
courses to the program.
The College Algebra and Trigonometry (Math En 1) and the Analytic Geometry and Solid Mensuration
(Math En 2), four courses that are consolidated into two, must be offered in full semester to allow the
students to have a better understanding of these four foundation courses. Moreover, acceptance of
non-STEM students to the engineering programs made it necessary since they could hardly cope up with
the pace and requirements. It was also found out that even STEM students have poor ability in
mathematics.
All suggestions will be consolidated and will be considered in designing the proposed new curriculum.
Engr. C. Caidc presented to the group the three EE Program Educational Outcome and discussed each
PEO.
Engr. F. Aguilon suggested to give emphasis on the leadership skills of the EE graduates and to replace
the “modern tools” with “EE tools” to make it identifiable to EE.
3. Other Matters
The department will continue with the practice of conducting a tracer study to its graduates to
ascertain the entry level skill sets that the industry requires. Knowing what attributes did the employers
consider in hiring the EE graduates are essential in making them ready to work.
There being no other matters discussed, the meeting was adjourned at 10:00PM.

Agenda : Discuss the results of the undergraduate research in relation to PO & PEO
: Other matters
The meeting was called to order at 9:30AM with Engr. Leonora Mancio presiding.
Eng’r. L. Mancio presented the results of the examinations conducted to the third year, fourth year, and
fifth year students taking up the IE program. The results were so alarming that it indicates a big variance
between the academic performance and the summative test achievement result. The correlation result
is 0.641 which shows that it has moderately high correlation. But, based on the results, the group
noticed that the students, though having good academic performance got a very low summative test
result and this may be attributable to some other factors and these factors has to be identified before
coming up with a conclusion.

Before the fifth year students graduate, an examination will be conducted again to determine its
development.
Eng’r. L. Mancio further announced that an assessment of PEO in regard to the graduates will be from
three to five years.
The next meeting will be scheduled on February 7, 2018 at 9:00 o’clock in the morning.
There being no other matters discussed, the meeting was adjourned at 12:30PM.
