‘THE RENAISSANCE HAS LED TO LASTING CHANGE IN SOCIETY.

DO YOU AGREE WITH THIS STATEMENT?’

The renaissance is another word for the rediscoveries of arts, literature and philosophy.
It developed and helped the world to create new innovations and ideas. New
technologies are also innovations from the Renaissance period. Given the lack of
development, the world would still be stuck in the middle ages if the Renaissance never
happened. It has led to the growth of humanism, classicism, perspective and the natural
world. In my opinion, the renaissance has led to lasting change in society.

The Renaissance has altered the world in every way and how we see it, from the tiniest
and most basic building blocks of life seen through a microscope to the most complex
and grand objects in our galaxy showing us the Earth was not the centre of the universe.
The printing press, the telescope, eyeglasses are just some of the innovations that came
from the renaissance and have helped build hundreds of thousands of buildings and
evolved the knowledge of humans.

However, let us concentrate on the printing press as one example of an invention during
the Renaissance that has made a difference in the course of history. In the past, before
the printing press, the majority of people could not read or write and as such,
knowledge and information could only be spread by word of mouth. It was only after the
monks, who established books, that knowledge was able to be spread on a global scale.
Had it not been for the printing press, their understanding of the world would be
limited to just the stories they told. It would be much more difficult to expand people's
‘mind’ if knowledge had to be spread by words through people. Though if these
understandings are in books, more innovations and ideas can be invented. Today, in
2021, books are responsible for the shock increase of global development in intelligence
and by these inventions and thoughts, today’s world is much more advanced than
before.
Even though the evidence to support the impact of the Renaissance is overwhelming,
some still dispute the fact it ever really happened. Some argue that this period was just a
developed extension of the middle ages They state that just because someone
announced that “this is a renaissance period”, doesn’t mean it really happened. And if it
didn’t really happen, it would not have impacted society today. Because the renaissance
mostly focused on arts, literature and philosophy, it didn’t have a big effect on some
industry or other areas of civilization. Farmers then would still be farmers now.
Although the ideas are accurate, I do not believe this is true. I believe the renaissance
has a big impact on the world we are in today.

The renaissance changed the world in every way we could think of, from the studies of
arts to literature and philosophy. The Renaissance changed the way we look at ourselves
and the world around us. Each innovation that came from this period has had great
impacts on the present we’re in today.
