Negative: The site of the first mass was in Masao in Butuan’ and NOT in Limasawa.

The Cavite Mutiny and the Rebellion Case Against GomBUrZa

- concerned with the controversy that surrounds the event of the Cavite Mutiny of 1872 and the alleged
involvement of the three martyred Filipino priests Frs. Jose Burgos, Mariano Gomez and Jacinto
Zamora more well known as Gomburza.
Proposition: GOMBURZA: Guilty of the rebellion case or not guilty of the rebellion case?
Affirmative: GOMBURZA were guilty of the rebellion case they were accused of which resulted to their
execution by “garrote” as penalty a month after the said mutiny.
Negative: GOMBURZA were NOT guilty of the rebellion case they were accused of which resulted to their

- settles the controversy whether the retraction letter made by Riza was genuine or forged.

- accounts pertaining to the first cry for freedom that has either took place in Bahay Toro, Pugad Lawin or Biyak
na Bato. The sources present different versions that would give light to, not only where such first cry took place,
but equally important is to the realization of the struggle of the men and women of the Katipunan and their
resolve to put an end to oppression and injustice.
