1. The tongue ,mouth and saliva breaks down the food we eat into small pieces.

2. Digestion begins in the mouth when you chew and swallow.2

3. A watery liquid called saliva makes the food wet and soft, and it has a chemical that helps

digest the food.

4. The esophagus connects the bottom of your throat to your stomach.

5. In the large intestine we can find wastes.

6. The stomach makes juices that help the body digest fats and proteins.

7. The pancreas is a stretchy sack. The shape is like the letter J.

8. The process called digestion allows your body to get the nutrients and energy it needs from the

food.

9. The tongue helps pushing the food around while you chew with your teeth.

10. Wastes pass through the small intestine.
