(I) WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNT IN THIS COURSE THAT WILL HELP YOU TO GROW AS A
TEACHER?
(III) IF YOU COULD CHANGE ONE OF THE ASSIGNMENTS IN THIS COURSE WHAT
WOULD IT BE AND WHY?
(IV) WHAT IS THE MOST USEFUL OR MEANINGFUL THING YOU LEARNT IN THIS
COURSE?
In this course I learnt several things that will aid my growth as a teacher. One of them
was learning about the 5e instructional model. This has me creating lesson plans that are able to
ensure students’ learning. I also learn the importance of ensuring that I include multiple
intelligence activities for all my students’ learning needs. I greatly appreciated having a teacher
who provided us with very valuable resources which aided in my growth as a teacher. I also can
take some of her teaching abilities such as organization and time management. I learnt how
important it is to have very organized plans in order for me to be able to have very smooth
lessons. I also learnt how to be a facilitator for my students as I saw first hand with my own
teacher and I will very much always be grateful for the help I received. I will always keep in
mind the very supportive traits of my teacher as I myself go into the teaching world.
One of the main problems I dealt with in this course was creating my lessons to be in the
5e instructional model. I had some difficulty planning procedures to follow the five steps but I
did my best to ensure that I did my research in order for my lesson plans to be successful. I also
had a bit of difficulty with creating activities with the different intelligences as there were not
many activities available for Belizean social studies and I had to make up my activities but I did
my best to diversify my activities. My biggest challenge with doing lesson plans was simply
being creative and still following the 5e instructional model with multiple intelligence activities.
Combining the three was a challenge as I have a bit of trouble staying within standard lesson
procedures once I get my own creative activities. I felt a bit pressured and challenged to ensure
my activities were diverse, creative, and meaningful but again, I am grateful for an excellent
teacher who facilitated my own learning and I only hope to be as amazing as she is once I am a
teacher myself.
