Smoking? Do you enjoy smoking? Do you know how danger tobacco smoke for secondhand smokers? All
smoke from burning nicotine products contains harmful chemicals (toxins). Even nonsmokers inhaling
other people’s smoke breathe in these toxins. Side stream smoke from the end of a cigarette, cigar or
pipe is unfiltered. It has more harmful toxins than mainstream smoke that someone breathes out.
Regular exposure to secondhand smoke can damage your heart and lungs. Exposure to secondhand
smoke has immediate adverse effects on the cardiovascular system and can cause coronary heart
disease and stroke. Secondhand smoke causes nearly 34,000 premature deaths from heart disease each
year in the United States among nonsmokers. Nonsmokers who are exposed to secondhand smoke at
home or at work increase their risk of developing heart disease by 25–30%. Secondhand smoke
increases the risk for stroke by 20−30% and exposure causes more than 8,000 deaths from stroke
annually based on data of the of US Central for Disease Control and Prevention. Secondhand smoke can
cause serious health problems in children. Studies show that older children whose parents smoke get
sick more often. Their lungs grow less than children who do not breathe secondhand smoke, and they
get more bronchitis and pneumonia. So you should stop it now, as an non-smoker community advocate
we should protect each other health because smoking can really badly affect our lives in many ways. We
can save more life, it can reduce the chance of us getting diseases, and live in a healthy and smoke-free
environment, you can completely free your body from this bad habit and it will slowly heal your body
and become a healthy person.

Did you know that many people died because of this unhealthy habit, based on World Health
Organization smoking is killing more than 8 million people a year around the world. More than 7 million
of those deaths are the result of direct tobacco use while around 1.2 million are the result of non-
smoker being exposed to secondhand smoke The WHO Trusted Source estimates that 65,000 fatalities
are reported in children related to secondhand smoke. Just see how many people it can kill, and you
can kill just because you are smoking. Maybe you have spent too much money because of smoke
addiction, or maybe you can kill one of your beloved one just because you're smoking, but no one knows
what will going to happen if you still doing this, but I can assure you that something bad may happen.
Secondhand smoke can cause lung health effects, respiratory infections, worsening asthma symptoms,
brain tumors etc. when you quit smoke based on a study by Timothy J. Legg Ph. D.; Quitting smoking
means breaking the cycle of addiction and essentially rewiring the brain to stop craving nicotine. The
sooner a smoker quits, the faster they will reduce their risk of cancer, heart and lung disease, and other
conditions related to smoking.

We belong to a group of youth advocates community of Non-smokers and our concern is about the
school environment and the students, teachers and whoever people that are affected of secondhand
smoke. Tobacco products negatively impact and damage our school environment. Cigarettes are not just
a nuisance; they are toxic waste. They contain chemicals which can affect our health and can be harmful
to our lives. Also, cigarettes can cause fires, which can damage structures. We better have to care
regarding this because it's for us, it's for our safety and we need to maintain a clean and tidy
environment of our school. These are the advantage of Non Smoking so that you'll have a knowledge
about in school environment if we're not smoking and how can we avoid a harmful environment. It
reduces the possibility of second-hand tobacco smoke being inhaled by students or whoever people
inside the school that are non-smoker. It reduces air pollution. Areas which have prohibited smoking
have been found to have better indoor air quality as opposed to areas where smoking is allowed.
