Electrical System Indication

Electrical Indication

The Engine Indication & Crew

Alerting System will display the
following electrical system
peramiters:

1. Bus Voltage
2. Amperage Draw from
generators
3. Battery Temperature for
Nicad batteries

Left System Indication

Voltage and amperage indications are sensed by the DAU

from the essential bus and power distribution panel.
• The number one DAU will takes a input from the left
essential bus on pin 49 of plug A3AP2. This voltage is
measured and displayed by the EICAS system as shown on
the diagram.
• The number one DAU takes input from the left power
distribution panel on plug A3AP2 pin 57, and 58. This is
converted to amperage indication on the EICAS.

DC Amperage Range

Indication Condition
DC AMPS current is in normal range (>/=
200 AMPS
300 Amps)
DC AMPS current is in caution range,
320 AMPS
indicaiton is boxed Amber (> 300 amp and
DC AMPS current is in warning range,
460 AMPS
indication boxed Red (>400 amp)
---- AMPS Invalid DC AMPS current data

Right System Indication

Voltage and amperage indications are sensed by the DAU from the essential bus and power distribution panel.

• The number two DAU will takes a input from the right essential bus on pin 49 of plug A4AP2. This voltage is
measured and displayed by the EICAS system as shown on the diagram.
• The number two DAU takes input from the right power distribution panel on plug A4AP2 pin 57, and 58. This is
converted to amperage indication on the EICAS.

DC Bus Voltage Range

Indication Condition
28.5 VOLTS DC bus voltage is in normal range
20.3 VOLTS DC bus volts are in caution range, indicaiton is boxed Amber (< 22.1 volt or > 29.4 volt)
31.6 VOLTS DC bus volts are in warning range, indication boxed Red (< 17.9 volt or >31.6 volt)
---- VOLTS
Invalid DC bus voltage data
Emergency System Voltage

The number two DAU will takes a input from the emergency
essential bus on pin 53 of plug A4AP2. This voltage is measured
and displayed by the EICAS system as shown on the diagram.

Emergency Bus Voltage Range

Indication Condition
28.5 EMER V DC bus voltage is in normal range
DC bus volts are in caution range, indicaiton is
20.3 EMER V
boxed Amber (< 22.1 volt or > 29.4 volt)
DC bus volts are in warning range, indication
31.6 EMER V
boxed Red (< 17.9 volt or >31.6 volt)
---- EMER V Invalid DC bus voltage data

APU Amperage

APU amperage is sensed by the number 2 DAU taken from the right hand power distribution panel.
DC Generator Symbol

Indication Condition
The circled cyan L (Left Generator), R (Right Generator), A (Auxiliary Generator) are operating
(L) (R) (A)
normally
(L) (R) (A) The circled Amber L (Left Generator), R (Right Generator), A (Auxiliary Generator) have failed
Battery Temperature Indications

Battery temperature indications are provided by thermistors inside the Nicad battery.
• The resistance is transmitted to the left DAU A3AP2 pins 65 and 66 for the #1 battery indication, and the right DAU
A4AP2 pins 65 and 66 for the #2 battery indication.
• Further system information on the battery system is in section 24-32-00
Battery Temperature Range

Indication Condition
35 TEMP °C Battery temperature is in the normal range
62 TEMP °C Battery Temperature is in caution range, indicaiton is boxed Amber (> 60 °C and < 70 °C)
73 TEMP °C Battery Temperature is in warning range, indication is boxed RED (>/= 70 °C)
---- TEMP °C Invalid battery temperature
RMU Indications

Either RMU can be selected to display certain EICAS data in abbreviated

format.
• When less than three display units are available, the number 1 RMU can be
automatically selected to display engine data. Normally the RMU PGE button
is used to select the backup EICAS displays.
• Battery voltages and generator amperage is available on the Radio
Management Unit maintenance pages.
• The indications, caution, and warning ranges are identical to the summary
and electrical pages.
