NARRATIVE (1)

Narrative Title: n/a

Narrative Author: Hilliker [EMT], Matt
Narrative Date: 05/06/2021 09:39:37
Narrative Apparatus ID: 8302
Narrative:
Battalion 1, 8302, 8303, 8313, 8103, and 8146 responded for a report of a structure fire at the Glenyan campground. 8851
arrived on scene to find the fire out and requested first in unit continue code 3 all other reduce to code 1. Battalion 1
arrived shortly after and request 8302 continue to the scene all other return and confirmed fire was out.

8302 arrived on scene, fire was out and had been suppressed by multiple portable fire extinguishers as well as a near by
garden hose; a collective effort of neighboring occupants and park staff. 8302's crew used a thermal camera to check for
hot spots and overhauled the trailer and surrounding vegetation that was smoking.

Battalion 1 spoke with the adjacent camper who admitted to having an active fire prior to the incident. The fire origin
appeared to be a fire pit in the adjacent campsite that had spread to the surrounding vegetation ultimately leading to
ignition of the trailer. The spread appeared to be unintentional. A smoldering fire was present in the pit on 8302's arrival As
indicated in the photos the trailer was in direct contact with the vegetation and in close proximity to the fire pit in question.
The trailer was not connected to a power source and the battery operated equipment inside the trailer displayed no signs
of damage as shown in the photos.

Information was gathered from the trailer owners, adjacent camper and park management. 8302's crisis kit was dispersed
to the trailer occupants and the scene left in their control.
