ABSTRACT

People tend to forgot turning off their home appliances when they're on a rush.
They worry about being late and just focus on how to get ready quickly. The current
study was conducted to explore the capability of using Network Controlled Switching
Device in turning on and off electrical appliances in various distance.

The materials that were used in conducting the study were Wi-Fi module, Solid
State Relay, step down module, Push Button switch, NPN Transistor, electrolytic
capacitor, resistor, Software (Arduino IDE) and bulb. The researchers bought all the parts
of the device and then create a design for the device. Download the software to their
mobile phones and create the program. Power on the device and connect it to the mobile
phones using Wi-Fi or data. The distance of the device from the smart phone were
observed and recorded.

Results revealed that even the smart phone and the device were far from each
other, the device is still working. The results of the three trials were all the same, they
were all working in various distances.
The researchers conclude that Network Controlled Switching Device was able to
turn off appliances left in the house. Network Controlled Switching Device is a great
advantage and it can lessen the users worry about the appliance left on their house.
