BENEFITS OF WINGLETS AND ADDING VALUE TO YOUR AIRCRAFT

Adding winglets tilted upward at the tips, either to new aircraft or as retrofits to existing models, has
delivered 3-5% reductions in fuel burn, depending on the length of the flight and type of aircraft.
Winglets reduce induced drag without needing a significant increase in horizontal span.

When its time to sell your aircraft you will confidently get more for airplane fitted with winglets.
Aircraft fitted with winglets sell faster.A desirable feature for buyers of previously -owned Falcon and
Hawker aircraft , Blended wings offer a 75% residual value.

Types of Winglets

Blended Winglets
Split-Tip Winglets
Wingtip Fence Winglets
Sharklet

BLENDED WINGLETS
A blended winglet is attached to the wing with a smooth curve instead of a sharp angle and is intended
to reduce interference drag at the wing/winglet junction. A sharp interior angle in this region can
interact with the boundary layer flow causing a drag inducing vortex, negating some of the benefit of
the winglet.

SPLIT-TIP WINGLETS
Split winglets are named after a Middle Eastern sword with a distinct curved blades ending with a
sharp point. Since the air is pushed upward, this reduces the vortex and subsequent energy loss that is
created by air flowing around the wingtip. The split design of the new ones, then, further reduce the
vortices formed behind the wing, which in turn further reduces energy loss

TIMELY TIPS

acquisition downtime and financing opportunities.
C-check, dry mod ,avionics upgrade, interior refurbishment or as a standalone operation -all are
