Intended Learning Assessment

Task 1
Give the reasons why Rizal was included in the tertiary curriculum. Do you
think Rizal subject is still relevant and effective in carrying out its purposes for the
Filipino youths in this present time? Why or why not? Defend your answer.

In fact, it is authorized by law. Also, the lessons contained within the course
itself. Those are some of the reasons why Rizal was included in the tertiary
curriculum. Actually, Rizal subject is still relevant and effective for it rededicate the
lives of the Filipino youth to the values of democracy and nationalism in which our
heroes suffered and died. To pay respect to our national hero for contributing his life
and works in developing the Filipino character, by searching the life, works and
writings of Rizal, to obtain an inspiring source of nationalism.

Task 3
Heroism comes in a natural way. It is not a just thing that happens overnight.
Rather, it should be internalized within someone’s heart and soul; and worked for it
whatever it causes him/her. A hero can be anyone who has the heart to do good
deeds for the welfare of the country and its people. Basing on the criteria of National
Heroes Committee (NHC), how would you rate yourself in a scale of 1 to 10, with 1
as the lowest and 10 as the highest, about your being a hero? What quality/ies of a
hero do you possess already and/or quality/ies you still need to develop?

Actually, if I rate myself in a scale of 1 to 10 it would be 5 for I didn’t do things


yet. Being a hero doesn’t mean that you’re doing good deeds. It’s not base on your
situation, motivations nor your acts. But it would be based on different perspective to
call you a hero. I think that, depending on what you’ve done to be called a hero, you
can be a hero when you’re still alive. When you save somebody who is in a bad
situation, you can be called a hero. It doesn’t mean that you are wearing combat,
wearing a costume or being a fighter for a crime. ___
As of now, I can’t say that I’m totally a hero for I’m still developing my quality.
For I’m still achieving my dreams and goals in life in that case, if I have the chance to
surpass those I’m achieving in. Then, I’ll have the chance to return it to my parents
who are my ideal heroes. For they do everything to protect me, encourage me and
give their lives for me or even one of my siblings. They are also the one who
motivates me and supports me. That’s the reason why I’m pursuing to finish my
studies to have a stable work so I’m the one who will support my parents and their
needs and wants.

Recall a significant moment in your life when you showed heroic


Deeds. How did it change your perspective towards greatness?

I was in 10th grade when my mother got stroke because of the


failure of her heart . That time my sister has a work, and my brother is taking
his assessment of his NC II and my father is a farmer. I don’t know but that
time they are not all available. For they can still help me to watch our mother
at night so I sacrifice my studies. In 12 days I’m on the hospital and another
days in our house I taking care of my mother because I’m the only one they
could trust in. so I please to my subject teachers that I would not entering my
classes because of what happen to us. Some teachers understand it and
some are not but still they pass me and I’m thank of that. In that moment I
showed heroic deed and I’m not the only one who showed heroic deeds but
also my teachers in that year level. They also understand me and pass me
even if I’m not entering the class. It changes my perspective towards
greatness that all of us can make something great. That anyone can be a
hero.
