(a) Give an overview of Whittington’s four generic approaches to strategy.

(b) Discuss how Strategic HRM can contribute towards Organizational Success.
(10 marks)

(c) Elaborate briefly on Strategic HRM (SHRM) interventions that can align an
organisation’s culture. (10 marks)

(a) Give an overview of Ulrich’s four main roles for HR professionals and explain
the impact that they can have in organizations. (20 marks)

(b) Elaborate on how the link between Human Capital Management (HCM) and
business strategy can be established. (10 marks)

Discuss the main principles of Strategic HRM as derived from Guest, Sisson and
Hendry and Pettigrew and explain the benefits that can accrue to an organization by
adopting these principles.
