In 2021 SIG’s Electro-Optics Group introduced

the ROMEO 7S, a new version of the company’s
highly regarded ROMEO 7 enclosed red dot
sight. The 7S began arriving at store shelves in
April of this year, and in this writer’s opinion,
one of the best, if not the best, value in red dot
sights on the market.

At a modest M.S.R.P. of $219.99 for the red dot

version and $249.99 for a green dot, the
ROMEO 7S offers features found only in much
higher priced competitors and gives nothing up Excluding the off position, the dot illumination
in the process. I’ll start with its optical clarity. control rotary switch provides 2 night vision
positions and 9 day light setting.
Lower priced red dot sights are quite often dark
with poor reflective surfaces so a couple of
issues are characteristic. First, poor light
transmission that adversely impacts target
acquisition. Second, a poor quality lens coating
reduces red dot contrast so you end up with a
starburst effect aggravated if the shooter
suffers from any amount of astigmatism, the
ROMEO 7S enhances accuracy with its very crisp
and sharply focused 2 MOA red dot.

Sig designers took the KISS approach with the

a great deal of rail space. It will only add 7.7 oz.
