1. What is a résumé?
It is a statement of an applicant´s background before
granting an in-person interview.
2. What is the purpose of a résumé?
The purpose of the résumé is to help the
applicant get a personal interview.
3.How can you present all the appropriate
background information in a résumé?
You can present all the appropriate background
information about yourself greatly condensed, well-
organized, easy -to understand, attractive format
probably on one page!
4.How should you divide your résumé?
You should divide your résumé into various
sections, each with an appropriate heading; also, you
should be consistent in the form and phrasing of
statements, but you need not use complete sentences.
5.How many layouts are acceptable?
Almost any attractive layout is acceptable.
6.How many sections a résumé is divided into?
A resume is usually divided into these main
sections: heading, objective, education,
experience, personal data, sections may be
presented in any order.
7.In what order education experience and personal
data sections may be presented?
They may be presented in any order.
8.What does the heading consist of?
Heading consists of your name, address, and
telephone number. This information may be
centered or positioned at either side of the page.
9.What is the job objective below list?
Since your résumé and application letter may
become separated, state your specific job
objective immediately below the heading.
10.What does education list?
Education lists the school you attended most
recently.
11.What does experience list?
Your work experience in reverse the first. Give
the name and address of each employer; starting
and ending dates of your employment with each
firm; the title of your job with the firm, a
description of your job duties; the name and title
of your supervisor and if you wish your
beginning salary and your ending salary.
12.What does personal Data list?
You may decide to provide nothing more than
height, weight, and a general statement
concerning your health.
13.What does reference list?
List the names, address, and telephone numbers
of at least two people who can vouch for your
character. If they are professional people, give
their tittles and business address and telephone
numbers. Never list a person´s name as a
character reference without first obtaining
permission to do so.
