a. What is the first preventive measure done by the Department of Public Health in San
Francisco to help slow down the spread of HIV?
o At first, Dr. Don Francis suggested to close the bathhouses in San Francisco because most of the
infected individuals got in the bathhower. However, they never happen because of the democratic
policy. Eventually, the Department of Public Health started a contact tracing for the possible outcome
and warned the people about about the disease.Then, to slow down the spread of HIV, jail wardens,
 traffic enforcers begun to wear personal protective equipment and the nursing students stop in
conducting CPR to the mannequin. Also, they test the blood in the blood back bank.
o The Department of Public Health tried to inform people and educate them about the risk and hazards
of the said disease.
