1. Learning Intention
Learning Objective: As a result of this lesson, students will demonstrate their knowledge of in
the following ways.

Using the digital song, students will discuss how to be a good digital citizen and be safe and
responsible online.

Lesson Intention: Articulate the learning intention from the student perspective (student-
friendly language, including purpose and connection to the real world).

Today I will learn . . .how to be a good digital citizen.

I can . . . practice to be responsible online.
This is important because . . . it will help me to be safe as a digital citizen.
2. Build on Prior Knowledge
Strategies to determine students’ prerequisite knowledge (for example, questions, KWLH, think-
pair- share, enter ticket)

Ask Students: What does it mean to make promise?

Have you ever made a promise to your family to be safe and responsible?
What was your promise?
Why it is important to keep your word when you make a promise.
How can it affect your relationship with others when they know you are someone who keeps a
promise?
How can it affect your relationship with others when they know you are someone who CAN’T
keep a promise?

Today in this lesson, we are going to learn how to be a good digital citizen. We will be making
a promise about our digital citizenship.

3. The Hook: Then discuss the apps that students have been using for school this year. (Share

Strategies to motivate students to engage in this lesson:

Show digital citizen song and ask questions to discuss.

7. Lesson Summary and Closure
Summary activity: Student share Closure questions to ask during this activity

Why is it important for the Digital Citizens to remember
their pledge?
I don’t know what the question above means. The question
is also too vague. Be more specific.
8. Reflection
What questions will I ask myself to determine if the lesson was a success?

1. How can I engage students more in this lesson?

2. How can I challenge student’s knowledge more in this lesson?

When we listen to the Digital song the students made movement and I saw them enjoying the
song. It would be more engaging if they learned the song ahead and be familiar with it before the
lesson. After the lesson students brought how it is important to be careful who they talk to on the
internet. One thing we also mentioned is we do not want to comment mean thing or message bad
things to other people online. This can lead to another lesson for cyberbullying.
