system suitable for this project is a supercomputer.

(A) State two reason why a supercomputer is suitable for this project? Firstly, the supercomputer is
able to process data and information faster on any upcoming weather patterns than any other
computer. Moreover, information about the weather can be sent to any Caribbean island in just
a short amount of time than it would for a regular computer.

(B) The local area network of stakeholders throughout the Caribbean region are to be connected to
the supercomputer to form a wide area network, using telecommunication lines.
I. Identify the most important hardware device that is necessary for this communication?
A gateway hardware device.
II. State the role of the hardware device? It acts as a "gate" between two networks. It may
be a router, firewall, server, or other device that enables traffic to flow in and out of the
network. While a gateway protects the nodes within network, it also a node itself.

(C) State two examples of industries other than weather forecasting in which a super computer is
used: news/journalism industry and in the research and development industry (science industry)

(D) State two characteristics of a desktop or a personal computer that makes them popular among
computer users? A personal computer can be held within the hand and it is very lightweight.

(E) State two areas where personal computers are widely used? Personal computers are widely
used in educational institutions (students) and it is also widely used in the economic institutions
such as agricultural surveyor and in factories where they turn raw goods into finished products.

(F) Write the formula which is required to calculate the total cost in EACH of the following cells?
