1. Purposes: The purpose of my keyword definition “exercise” is to inform readers about exercise
benefits.
2. Intended Readers: Undergraduates who are looking into starting an exercise routine.
3. Order of Information: I would order my paper by introduction and my topic sentence.
Secondly, I would input how the body works physiologically during exercise. Next, different
variety of working out.

4. Types of Evidence: Photos that support my topic sentence. Peer reviewed journals about the
overall benefits that it can provide.
5. Style and Tone: Formally.
6. Graphic Presentation: Photos that show graphs of increases and decreases in the body.

Eclipse appeals to those interested in outer space. The purpose of this passage is to further
inform readers about the eclipse. It shows evidence and graphic presentation with photographs
of solar and lunar eclipse. The photographs provide a visual idea of what these look like. The
style of this passage is expository writing. The style of this article is cause and effect pattern.

The Art of the Modern Movie purpose is to compare movie trailers from old days to modern time.
This style is expository because the article wants us to compare and also show knowledge about
how movies trailers came about. The organization style of this seems to be time-sequence
pattern.

Absolute Zero purpose is to inform readers about how temperature can reach absolute zero. This
style is analytical writing and the organization style seems to have a logical pattern. The
language is advanced for technical readers. The evidence that this passage provides is a
photograph of a science experiment along with a graph.

The convention similarities found is these three passages are use of evidence. For instance, the
Eclipse page had photograph to illustrate the solar eclipse. The Art of Modern Movie had movie
trailers. The Encyclopedia of Science and Technology, Absolute Zero shows images of the graphs
of temperature and pressure. Secondly, the organization of all keywords have an introductory
and then leads to extensive detail. Lastly, all of these articles are non-fictional.

The convention that I will choose to apply to my definition will be informative and nonfictional.
Following the three extended definitions we have reviewed, I will be able to include a similar
style to either do expository and analytical writing. I may gain ideas to expand my definition
with inclusive photos or evidences that paint a clearer and concise idea to my audience. I would
want my purpose to be more obvious.
