Rehabilitation at ANRC

Information for the patient and their

ANRC is a highly specialized carers disorders of all ages.
rehabilitation service for neurological
Although our primary focus is on neurological diseases, we are fully equipped to provide
rehabilitation for all diseases including musculoskeletal disorders, bone, and joint diseases,
respiratory diseases, balance problems etc. We have a state of art facility with the latest
equipment, including computerized machines for balance management. Our staff is well trained in
using these machines and rehabilitating patients with such illnesses.
In our management team, we have doctors and senior physiotherapists, who have international and
national experience in managing and running rehabilitation services. We also have considerable
experience of working in the academic and corporate environment. Because of our affiliation with
various prestigious organizations, both internationally and nationally, we can pick and choose our
staff carefully. We use state of art equipment and our rehabilitation staff has been trained at best
centres in the country. Our staff is regularly updated with the latest advances and technologies in
the field of rehabilitation.
We fully understand the impact of these devastating illnesses on the patient and their families.
Hence, in our rehabilitation programme, we will have a “family-cantered approach with putting
the patient first”. We will involve patient and their carers in planning individual rehabilitation
programme for them. Before accepting a patient in our service, we will assess the needs and
requirements of each patient. We all take all medical, psychological and social factors into
considerations and then ANRC team will decide whether we can help you/your patient or not.
Hence if you wish to have help from our facilities, please contact us in good time.
Before accepting a patient in our service, goals of treatment for each patient will be developed and
agreed with patient/ patient’s carer. For each patient, we will provide a timebound intensive
rehabilitation programme and patient’s progress will be discussed regularly with the patient/ their
carer. Once optimum benefit has been delivered by our service, we will discharge the patient from
our service. However, if desired, a regular maintenance programme for the patient can be
delivered at our center.
We recognize that it may not be possible for every patient to travel to our rehabilitation center on
regular bases. For such patients, we are in process of setting up a dedicated ambulance transport to
travel to our center. Depending on the clinical and psycho-social needs, for some patients, we also
have inpatient individual rooms to stay at our center. Our clinical team will make this decision and
offer you this option. and our nursing service will be basic as well ( this needs further discussion ).
Except for during the therapy session, we expect the patient’s family members/ carer to stay,
including overnight, with the patient. We would expect them to provide assistance, including
administration of medications, to their patients in their day to day care. This will not only give an
opportunity for the carers to understand and identify the needs of their patient but also will train
and give them confidence in dealing with these needs in their home environment. This will also
keep in our ethos of “Family-centered management”.
Since we provide a rehabilitation service, there will be no provision of a medical facility provided
by ANRC. For their medical needs, we would expect the patient to liaise with their own regular
treating doctor. At your own expenses, you may wish to use the services of the available
physician, neurosurgeon and other doctors at Ananda Hospital, where our center is based. For
acute emergencies, either you may wish to contact doctors of Ananda Hospital on site or you may
transfer your patient to any medical center of your choice. Our staff on site, If necessary, will help
you to get an ambulance for such transfer.

Please remember, that purpose of our rehabilitation programme is to optimize patient’s abilities
and to educate them and their carers in managing patient at home. As best as we can, during
rehabilitation, we want to mimic a home environment and prepare patient/ carer to deal most
eventualities at their home. For this reason, facilities provided by ANRC will be only, what one
can expect at their own home.
