1. a) Explain the Bohr’s atomic theory. What are the supporting facts of 4+4+2
hydrogen spectrum on Bohr’s atomic theory. Calculate the radius of
2nd Bohr’s Orbit of Hydrogen atom.[h = 6.6210-34 Js, ;M = 9.110-31
kg, e = 1.610-19 C, permitivity of vacuum o = 8.8510-12kg-1M-3A2]
b) Define orbital and explain shapes of d-orbits. Calculate the 3+2
wavelength of the particle of mass 12.310-25 kg moving with a
velocity of 2.810-6m/s [ Planck’s Constant h = 6.6210-34 Js.
2. a) What is buffer solution? Explain buffer mechanism of acidic buffer. 4+4
Calculate pH of the resulting solution when 300 ml of 0.3 M KOH is
added to 200 ml of 0.1 M H2SO4.
b) Illustrate and explain single electrode potential. Calculate emf of the 4+3
following cell at 270C.

The standard potential of Ag /Ag+ half cell is +0.80 and Zn /Zn++ is

4. a) Explain the three dimensional structure of ammonia based on 6
hybridization theory.

i) Ortho nitro benzoic acid has much lower melting
point than that of parameta-nitrobenzoic acid.
ii) Melting and boiling point of ionic compounds are
higher than that of covalent compounds.
iii) H2O has higher melting and boiling point than that of
H2S.
