Entrée (Most Important) explained:
Left Side Right Side
• Left Eye: Character sees townspeople being • Right Eye: Character wants to see the townspeople

prejudice and matrimonial hardships

- Center of heart: What made Hester herself was the fact that she knew what she was
doing and she didn’t let everybody else's opinions change the way she ran her life.
- Mouth dialogue bubble 1: She said most things that came to her mind, she wasn’t
rude but she had a certain hate for prejudice
- Mouth dialogue bubble 2: She wanted to tell everybody that she was really a good
person and that her act of adultry was never intended as such but of one of
genuine love.
Sweet Side Dish: Hot Hershey
Hester Fudge
Ingredients:
• ½ cup beauty
• 2 cups 2 percent shame
• 4 cups love
• 1 teaspoon sin
• 1 teaspoon charity
• 1 teaspoon regret
• ½ to 1 cup pride, chopped

Bring the beauty, shame, love and sin to a boil until it


reaches soft ball stage. Remove from heat and put the
pan in a sink with cold water in it. While in the cold
water, add the charity and regret. Combine well and add
pride. Put into a round 8- or 9-inch round buttered cake
pan and let set.

Preparation time: 11 years


Serves: 1 Puritan town
Results: 1 proud, good-hearted, independent woman
