MONEY
 Money is used around the world to
pay for goods and services. Different
countries use different kinds of money
called currency. In the Philippines, the
currency is Philippine peso.
 Money is the most important thing in life. No one
can live without money. Money is important to buy basic
life requirements, and money is also important to
preserve human dignity and to provide a decent life for
him and his family. Money is one of the most important
requirements of life because without money, people lack
essential things in life, such as education, health care and
others.
Money is a good servant
but a bad master.
 There are many ways to earn
money, but to sustain your wealth you
have to handle your own money.
 Rich people are rich because they know the
true value of money and hence they manage
their business. It is generally said that money
will stay in the hands of people who know its
value.

 Money can be written in words and
numbers. In writing values of money, the use
of peso sign (₱) and decimal point (.) is very
important. Write the whole number part of
the given value.
 If the value of peso is zero, as in
₱0.85, there is no need to mention the value
of peso, it is simply read as eighty-five
centavos.
 If the value of centavo is zero, as in
₱2.00, there is no need to mention the
value of centavo; it is simply read as
two pesos.
 In writing the amount of money, use the peso
sign (₱) and the decimal point (.) to separate the
peso from the centavo.

If the value of peso is zero, read only the

centavo part and if the centavo is zero, read only
the peso part.
