Installation notes
− When installing the device and/or doing any work on it, make sure that it is
disconnected from power.
− Remove those parts inside the unit which secure its components during transportation,
if necessary for the installation (see enclosed information sheet).
− When moving the device from a cold to a warm environment, do not operate it for at
least two hours to prevent possible damage caused by condensation.
− The device is equipped with a safety-tested power cable, which must be connected
only to a grounded outlet.
− Always hold the plug when removing the power cable. Never pull the cable itself.
− Install cables in such a way that they will not be stepped on or tripped over or damaged
or crushed in any way.
− Make sure that there is always free access to the sockets used or to the electrical
circuit-breakers of the house installation.
Switching off the automatic circuit-breaker or removing the fuse inset from the fuse
holder in the distribution box of the building installation or by disconnecting the plug
connector of the power supply cable from the grounded socket in the building
installation or by switching off the ON/OFF switch on the power distributor
− Only use accessories and extension components that have been approved by us.
Nonobservance can result in damage to the device or violations of regulations
concerning safety, radio interference and ergonomical requirements.
− Note that there are only safety extra-low voltage circuits (SELV circuits) if you want to
feed voltage from an external source into prepared cables to install additional
electronics (e.g. connection for an intruder alarm system).
− To clean the device only use cleaning agents approved by Wincor Nixdorf International
GmbH (see chapter "Appendix", section "Approved cleaning materials" in the operating
manual).
Repairs
Unauthorized opening of the device or repair work carried out improperly could
result in considerable danger to the user.
Lithium batteries
Replace the battery only with the same or an equivalent type recommended by
Wincor Nixdorf International GmbH (see chapter "Appendix", section
"Consumables" in the operating manual). Dispose of used batteries in compliance
with national regulations (observe the manufacturer's specifications, if necessary).

General information
Cable routing through the floor is only possible for a device which is mounted
without a base plate.
Cable routing above the floor is possible for devices with or without a base plate.
When the cables enter the device from below, make sure that the cables cannot
be sheared off when the system is moved.
To connect the device, power and data cables are required. The power cable that is
included in the delivery has a standard length of 2 m (6.56 ft). Other ready-to-use lengths
of power and data cables can be ordered if needed via the hardware configurator or must
be provided by the customer. For the position of the cable feed opening please refer to
the appropriate illustration in this guide. The cable exit points in the floor must be kept
clear to ensure that the cables are not bent or damaged.
Free-standing devices are best connected through the cable exit opening in the floor to a
floor connection unit of sufficient size which has to be provided by the customer. The
connection unit must have a screwable top and has to be built into the floor flush with the
screed (safety and prevention of accidents). Make sure it is built in outside the device's
footprint.
Plan a big enough cable duct from the cable feed opening to the floor connection unit, so
that ready-made cables can be installed. The exit point of the cable duct should be right
under the cable feed opening of the device.

Power supply
The device must only be connected to a TN system. In addition to the power supply for
the device grounding outlets must be provided by the customer for supplementary
equipment such as a modem.

Observe the ambient condition requirements for transportation and storage (see chapter
"Appendix", section "Technical data").

Check beforehand if there is enough space to move the device through doors
and hallways.
The following illustration (scale 1:20) should help you determine if the space is
sufficient. It shows the device on a standard lift truck.
With the help of the grid (100 mm x 100 mm (3.94" x 3.94")) you can draw the
actual dimensions of the door and the hallway to find out if there is enough space
for transportation. Refer to the next page for an example.
In the appendix there is a drawing of the device with a lift truck on a scale of 1:20
which may serve as a template.

to scale.
Contact the person in charge of planning the installation to verify that all
preparations have been performed completely and professionally and that none of
the required power and data cables are missing.
General information
For transportation the device is equipped with a shipping pallet which must be removed
prior to the installation.
To move the device only push against the device's body as shown in the
illustration below.
• Remove the rear cover (see chapter "Appendix", section "Opening / closing the
device").
Please return the shipping pallet which is no longer needed to Wincor Nixdorf
International GmbH. Please contact your vendor, if necessary.
• Pull the equipment carriage out and remove the front panel (see chapter "Appendix",
section "Opening / closing the device").
• Remove the rear cover (see chapter "Appendix", section "Opening / closing the
device").
• Push the equipment carriage in and lock it (see chapter "Appendix", section "Opening /
closing the device").
Please return the shipping pallet which is no longer needed to Wincor Nixdorf
International GmbH. Please contact your vendor, if necessary.
Mounting sets
• Apply the four self-adhesive buffer pads to the underside of the base plate in the four
corners (see section "Mounting sets").
• Move the device to its final location and align it. Ensure that no cables are damaged in
the process.
• Install the power and data cables (see also chapter "Planning the Installation", section
"Power and data cables").

• Secure the rear cover (see chapter "Appendix", section "Opening / closing the
device").
Make sure that the cables leave the device through the openings in the rear cover
and that they are not crushed.
• Pull out the equipment carriage (see chapter "Appendix", section "Opening / closing
the device").
• Install the power and data cables (see also chapter "Planning the Installation", section
"Power and data cables").
• Secure the rear cover (see chapter "Appendix", section "Opening / closing the
device").
Make sure that the cables leave the device through the openings in the back
panel and that they are not crushed.
• Reinstall the front panel, push the equipment carriage in and lock it (see chapter
"Appendix", "Opening / closing the device").
The power and data cables are taken out of the device either through the bottom or above
the foot plate towards the rear through the openings in the rear cover.
• Place the device in its correct position and mark the bore holes. Ensure that no cables
are damaged in the process.
• Remove the device and drill the required holes (see illustration below).
The drilling depth must be at least 44 mm (1.73") and the hole diameter
12 mm (0.47").

• Clean the drill holes as specified in the instructions delivered with the mounting set.
• Secure the hammer-in anchors (see section "Mounting sets") in the floor.
Push the hammer-in anchors in the prepared holes. Before spreading the
anchor make sure that the anchors are pushed in to touch the bottom of the
holes.
Note the required drilling depth.
To fix the anchor, hammer in the expanding cone in the anchor using a punch
or a screwdriver.
• Align the device. Ensure that no cables are damaged in the process.
• Only for device with printer: Pull the equipment carriage out (see chapter
"Appendix", section "Opening / closing the device").
• Install the power and data cables (see also chapter "Planning the Installation", section
"Power and data cables").

• Secure the rear cover (see chapter "Appendix", section "Opening / closing the
device").
Make sure that the cables leave the device through the openings in the back
panel and that they are not crushed.
• Only for device with printer: Reinstall the front panel, push the equipment carriage
back in and lock it (see chapter "Appendix", section "Opening / closing the device").
Start-up
The service technician will connect the power and data cables.
• Pull out the equipment carriage (see section "Pulling out the equipment carriage").
• Push the equipment carriage in and lock it (see section "Pushing in the equipment
carriage").
• Pull out the equipment carriage (see section "Pulling out the equipment carriage").
• Remove the front panel (see section "Removing the front panel").
Secure the rear cover by following the same steps in reverse order.
Make sure that the cables leave the device through the openings in the rear cover
and that they are not crushed.
This check list has been created for all self-service systems. Most questions can be
answered yes or no. Some empty space is provided in the section "Notes concerning
installation preparation" for your convenience if you want to note any questions or drafts.
After checking off all items, copy this list, send it to your head of operations and
make arrangements for an installation date.
