Hovercraft home

Materials
-One Ballon
-One CD or DVD old
-One corch
-Silicon
-Bag
first to assemble our homemade hovercraft, we
must look for a cork that can be inserted into the
opening of the disc (CD or DVD). With the help of a
drill, we make a hole from one end of the cork to
the other end, crossing the entire length of the
cork, it should be a kind of tunnel through the cork
where the air will flow.

Now, we fix the cork in the opening of the CD,

preventing the cork from going through the other
side of the CD. The idea is that it remains fixed
without lifting the disc from the surface, for this we
will use glue and tape.
Next, we place the disk on a smooth surface (like a
table, for example), inflate the balloon (our air
source) and hold the nozzle with our fingers to
prevent air from escaping.

Next, we place the nozzle of the balloon over the

free end of the cork and release the air flow. We can
see how the disc levitates on the surface and with
the help of our hand it can slide easily on the
smooth surface.

Finally If we want to enhance the air cushion,

we can create a kind of ring with the plastic of a
bag and stick it to the disc, creating a kind of
cover that keeps the air cushion concentrated
under the disc. How the hovercraft works When
we create a flow of air powerful enough that it
can lift a surface or object, we are creating an
air cushion. Said air cushion practically
eliminates all resistance from the environment
to movement, in such a way that with a small
impulse the object can even slide on water or
any other surface. With a little imagination, we
can create a more elaborate and powerful
hovercraft, even using an electric blower and a
larger support or surface, it all depends on the
type of hover
