Academic Committee – Induction Task

Instructions:
• Each group has to make a PPT ( 7 slides excluding the cover page and thank you
slide).
• Answer all the questions, with proper reasoning.
• Please refer to Participant’s Handbook 2019-21.
• Part A consists of individual tasks while Part B is a group task.

Part A
(Use 6 slides to answer the questions. Each student has to attend two question using a
single slide. Mention the student’s name and CAT ID at the bottom of the slide. However,
each member should have knowledge of all the questions)

1. Suppose one of your friend is already struggling with his grades and you found him leaving the
class after attendance has been taken. What would be your course of action in this situation?
Which MBA rule is broken here? State the exact rule.
2. Due to medical reasons a student is not able to attend 6 classes out of 20 in a course. According
to you what should be the consequence? According to the actual rule what penalty does he have
to face, if any. State the exact rule.
3. What amount does a student pay for each lecture? Show your calculations and state assumptions
if any.
4. During online quizzes you see exchange of answers on the Whatsapp group. What would be
your course of action? Comment by using related rule from the MBA manual.
5. Due to some network issues, you couldn’t give your attendance, but you attended the entire
class. What would be your appropriate course of action after the class?
6. You have missed 4 classes in the first half of a particular course “A”. Now, you have to attend
a competition’s final on a day when no classes have been planned. After the finals you know
that on the last minute two sessions of course “A” were scheduled on the same day which
you’ve missed. What will be your course of action?
7. You are running on a very tight schedule and have an assignment due in next 30 minutes. Your
friend has already sent you a solution of assignment that he has submitted. You decide to copy
the assignment and submit it to the faculty. What will be the consequences if you and your
friend are found guilty of plagiarism?
8. Throw some light on existing DCP rule and Restructured Program for underperforming
students.
9. You have scored 43 marks in a particular course and have been allotted D grade. You feel hard
done as in all other courses D grade has been allotted for 35- 39.99 marks. What will be your
course of action?
10. You find one of your classmates sleeping while the lecture is going on. What will you do? Does
this correspond to any of the rules mentioned in the Student’s handbook.
11. Suppose you have already missed 3 classes in a course. Suppose your brother’s marriage comes
up due to which you may have to miss 3 more classes if you decide to attend it. What will be
your course of action? How many grade drops, if any, you’ll get in both the cases?
12. What are the circumstances under which an MBA participant won’t be promoted to second
year?
 Part-B

(Only use one slide for this part. This is a group task and should be done accordingly)

Consider yourself as an Executive Member of the “Academic Committee” and you have to
plan an event pertaining to Academics only. Prepare the blueprint of the event (include all the
details). You will be marked based on the following –
• Academic Importance of the Event.
• Feasibility of the Plan.
• Compactness of the Slide.

(Note – Avoid thinking along the lines of having a Guest Lecture. )
