Q1 Marketing introduction in Pakistan.

Ans 1 In Pakistan, before 1980s, there were few wealthy people for whom luxurious items used to be
imported as the same were not being produced domestically. However, the companies started to come
into existence to cater the growing domestic needs which surged due to advent of technology and
marketing. The companies also started to respond to technological innovations. Instead of importing
goods, Pakistani companies started to get license of production in many cases i.e. Pantene Shampoo,
Paradontax Toothpaste. While some companies started to assemble the parts and make finished
products i.e. Suzuki cars, Honda motorcycles, HP computers, Samsung mobiles etc. Some companies
started local production i.e. Dawlance Refrigerator, Sohrab Motorcycles etc. In banks, they introduced,
credit cards, debit cards, Easypaisa etc.
Since the 1980s, many companies have emerged to cater the growing needs of Pakistani consumers,
paving way for adoption of luxurious lifestyle for many. Recent few start-ups like Payload, Healthwire,
Meezaj are also example that the innovation is on the way to cater the needs of millions of Pakistani
consumers.
