1. A Phenomenological Inquiry into the Lived Experiences of Service Crews Amidst the
COVID-19 Pandemic

According to Ma. Rovelyn Escoto et al. (2021) Consideration of a major trend in the food and
beverage industry already facing difficulties because of the COVID-19 Pandemic. Most of the
Service crew employees are having a hard time to adjust on the new normal. This study focuses
more on service crews point of view on the problems they are facing in their daily lives while
they are working amidst the pandemic and it also explained how the pandemic affects and make
more difficult the personal and professional lives of service crews. Due to the pandemic fast food
companies had lay offs which affected most of the workers and also had the remaining
employees salary reduced, Service crews are also afraid of acquiring the virus and infecting their
loved one. Service crews also learned coping mechanisms skills like positive reinforcement and
change When dealing with a challenging situation because they were discovered that maintaining
optimistic attitude was beneficial.

Accoring to the statement of Regina Ihrke, senior director and health adviser at Willis Towers
Watson, believes that The pandemic has resulted in increased levels of occupational fear and
fatigue, employers are finding it possible for workers to seek treatment across the wellness
spectrum. And all of the employees are doing their best as they can help other staffs to keep on
holding on to this tragedy.

3. We asked fast-food employees to contact us to talk about working during the coronavirus
pandemic. Over 100 responded to us — here's what they had to say.

According to Business Insider, they asked fast food service crews to contact them if they wanted to share
some of their experiences on working amidst pandemic and they had received more than 100 responses
from the callout that they had conducted. Many of these respondents were worried about their health and
their families. One Mcdonald employee said, "I fear catching this virus and taking it home, I'm already
poor. I live paycheck to paycheck, but I would much rather be out of work to help prevent the spread to
my children or anyone else." This shows that these employees are left with no choice but to stop working
for their family just for them to be safe. Another response who came from an employee of Dunkin Donut
said, "I do hope other fast food workers aren't going through the same as I am. Hopefully I do not get sick
from the lack of rest. I hope my daughter doesn't continue to be mad at her father because I was unable to
take her on the weekend." Because of the pandemic, shifts from jobs had drastically changed and caused
numerous employees to suffer stress from lack of rest.
