Maximum Bearing distance:

l max. = 5200 x (172.08/400)^(0.5)


= 3410.6 mm
Hence maximum distance between two bearings on stern tube bearing is 3410.6mm
We are providing 3063mm distance between AFT & FWD Bearing.

Minimum hole diameter of Flange coupling:


Material used for coupling flange is forged steel
UTS = 440 N/mm2
PCD consider for hole is Dia.292mm
Number of holes=12 Nos.

=16.x(10^6x1210/(400x292x12x440))^0.5
=22.41 mm
Minimum hole diameter is 22.41mm
We keep 24.5 mm hole diameter.
