Topic: Latest Newsgathering Technologies, their Effectiveness and Risk

Introduction

Ever since the 21st century, the innovation of various newsgathering

technologies has been very helpful towards providing news with credible and
pertinent information. However, it is not without its risks.
Whilst these technologies can be effective it can also be used in harming the
privacy of others.
The innovation of these newsgathering technologies has helped in providing
credible information worldwide and its effectiveness is certainly no question, but
these technologies is also available to the public and that by itself is a risk. In a
study by [ CITATION Gom16 \l 1033 ] he found that the south African media was being
used as a tool for information warfare and that these new medias have an
implication for warfare.
Researcher[ CITATION Joh19 \l 1033 ] stated that Newsgathering technologies like
drones, 360 video cameras, smartphones and even satellites have ethical
consequences regarding the privacy, freedom of speech and news quality of the
people. However, without these effective Newsgathering devices it is difficult to
provide credible and empirical information.
Based on ethical consequences regarding the use of newsgathering
technologies the authorities should make these latest newsgathering
technologies less accessible to the public. Otherwise, any devious person could
expose any harmful information easily with the use of these technologies.
With the scenarios previously mentioned, it is our objective as researchers to
determine the methods in which we can maximize the effectiveness whilst
minimizing the risk of these newsgathering technologies.
This is all for the purpose of improving the public’s knowledge regarding the
latest newsgathering technologies.
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

This study seeks to determine the effectiveness and risks of the latest news
gathering technologies. Specifically, the study aims to answer the following
questions:

1. How do people deal with the advancement of technology with regards to latest
news gathering?

2. Should people apprehend what they are filming to get the latest news?

3. What are the factors people should consider involving news gathering
technologies since information can be now manipulated or falsified?

SCOPE AND DELIMITATIONS

This study focuses on the efficiency and risks of the latest news gathering
technologies. This entails determining the methods and techniques by which we
can improve the study's efficiency while reducing its risks.

This research study aims to increase the public's understanding of the most
recent news gathering technologies and in determining ways to reduce its
potential risk in the society.
