1st procedure

1. What did the researchers study? Babies at Yale University's Infant Cognition
Center respond to "naughty" and "nice" puppets.
2. What method did the researchers use? Describe the apparatus and procedure.
They show a procedure. First on a table with a curtain, they present 3 characters: 1
red square with eyes, one blue circle with eyes and one yellow triangle with eyes.
First scenario yellow triangle appears trying to climb a hill but struggles. Curtain
closes. Second scenario same yellow triangle trying to climb the hill but now blue
circle appears and help him. Curtain closes. Third scenario yellow triangle struggling
to climb the hill and red square appears at the top and kick the yellow triangle
preventing to make him to the top of the hill. Researches repeat this scenario 6-14
times until baby its tire.
3. What did they find? at the end researches offered a baby on a table to select he
character they place near the baby red square and blue circle, researches find that
80% of babies were selecting blue circle the helpful character over the character
who is unhelpful
4. How well do you think the apparatus and procedure worked? What would you
improve? Why? I think this procedure works very well, I like the idea that the use
different figures an colors. I will not improve anything I really like this experiment.

2nd procedure

1. What did the researchers study? Object Permanence is the understanding that
objects continue to exist even they cannot be seen. It's something that babies only
learn at about 18 months
2. What method did the researchers use? Describe the apparatus and procedure.
This procedure took the dad a lot of patience the things that he uses half coconut
cover and little pieces of cucumber, he show the baby the cucumber and then place
under the coconut cover and asking the baby where is the cucumber, he did it
several times until children uncover the cucumbers
3. What did they find? As perfectly illustrated by the kid, who seems to think the
cucumber simply ceases to exist when covered with a coconut shell.
4. How well do you think the apparatus and procedure worked? What would you
improve? Why? On this procedure I will improve the covering for something easier to
move and depends on baby change the fruit that they like the most and not only a
cucumber.
