Terminal Objectives:
Acquisition of basic knowledge, skills, and attitude in the performance of nursing
care to the people in all stages and growth utilizing the nursing process with emphasis
on the preventive, promotive, curative and rehabilitative aspect of care in the hospital
setting.

Enabling Objectives after eight (8) hours I should be able to:


1) Define and internalize as taught what urinary catheterization is.
2) Observe nurse-patient interaction with the use of therapeutic communication.
3) Enumerate possible risks with urinary catheterization.
4) Indicate and distinguish appropriate catheter type and size.
5) Maintain strict aseptic technique all throughout the procedure.
6) Ensure the insertion and care of the urinary catheter is carried out in a safe
manner to minimize trauma and infection risks.
7) Take note of precautionary measure in performing the procedure.
8) Explain to the client the purpose of performing the urinary catheterization.
9) List according to hospital policy the results taken while before and after
performing the procedure.
10) Justify the procedure with rationale in a step-by-step manner.
Learning Feedback Diary

Today was the macroteaching of our Clinical Instructor Ms. Alfaida M. Tiblani
of the procedure about the urinary catheterization in both male and female clients. I
was able to learn new nursing interventions and its rationales because it was
thoroughly explained by our instructor. I was able to comprehend the seriousness of
performing the procedure and its complications, risks, and trauma because it was
stressed out. Different types of catheters were also discussed and examples were
given.

I thank our Clinical Instructor for trying to help us in every way possible, even
from a poor internet connection for instilling in our minds the things that might seem
a common practice has a great significant role not only to us nursing students but also
for our clients.
