REFLECTION

Write a reflection paper about the importance of service and


commitment in relation to one’s area of specialization

Commitment and service is quality of being dedicated and maintaining


an attitude of someone who works extremely hard to do or support
something. Commitment and service is the backbone of a group or
organization and it gives a group it’s strength. The President of WPB / UB
was committed and love their service by continuously improving their
selves and most importantly their professional development to better serve
the most important stakeholders in a school which is us, the students.
Having this love for service and commitment set the goal, the vision, the
people with whom they work, the role in your school or organization and
what have you learned as president of this school. This set the University of
Batangas as the first University in Batangas.
The importance of service and commitment in relation to one’s area of
specialization is it help to communicate the mission, the vision, principles
and goals of the school. The president of the school made sure that
everyone in the school is familiar with its vision, mission, principles and
goals of the school. In order that to happen the president became role
model himself as committed and love their service. It built an organizational
culture in which staff, and members of the school appreciate and realize
the importance of commitment and service in relation to one’s area of
specialization. Most importantly, it helps people to recognize their talents
and leadership skills because everyone has talent to share that they can
use to achieve the goal, principles, the vision and the mission of the school.
Having commitment and love for their service is passion. If we have this,
we can easily understand the importance of service and commitment in
relation to one’s area of specialization. We only need to develop our
passion so we can improve our commitment and love for our service. By
that it can bring the organization to its success and effectiveness. As John
Garner said, “Commitment requires hard work in the heat of the day, it
requires faithful exertion in behalf of chosen purposes and the
enhancement of chosen values”.
