Total Marks: 10 Due Date: 21/04/20

Instructions:

• Copied assignments will get zero credit.

Name: ______________________________ Reg. No. ________________ Section: _________

Problem 1:
Figure shows the percentage differential
protection of the three-phase Y − ∆, 50
Hz, 1500 MVA, 18/220 kV transformer.
The generator is on the star side of the
transformer while the delta side is
connected to load.
Highlight the path of the fault current (as
done in class for c-g fault) for all the faults
occur at the load side of the transformer
given in Table 1.

Percentage biased differential protection

Problem 2:
Figure shows the percentage
differential protection of the three-
phase ∆ − Y, 50 Hz, 1000 MVA,
220/132 kV transformer. The
generator is on the delta side of the
transformer while the star side is
connected to load.
Highlight the path of the fault current
(as done in class for c-g fault) for all
the faults occur at the load side of the
transformer given in Table 1.
