1.1 Overview
The WCS water-air-split model (WCS w-a-split) contains the following two components:
n Indoor unit (WCS cabinet) ( Fig. 1 Page 7), and
n Outdoor unit (fan cooler) ( Fig. 5 Page 10)
n Flow heater (optional)
This document does not include instructions for replacing “common” FRUs (Field Replace‐
able Unit), such as PCBs (Printed Circuit Board), contactors, circuit breakers, connectors,
fuses, lamps, switches, etc.
The primary water circuit between the indoor unit (WCS cabinet) and the outdoor unit
(fan cooler) contains antifreeze (40% glycol).
The order number for the refill coolant medium "Glykosol N" can be found in the SPC. For
the initial filling, use a mixture of 60% water and 40% “Glykosol N”. Avoid mixing cool‐
ants from different manufacturers. Use only potable or deionized water.
Only qualified service personnel (trained HVAC technicians) may replace water circuit
parts in situations that require draining and refilling the antifreeze-enhanced water cir‐
cuit (60%/40% water-glycol mix).
Antifreeze-enhanced cooling water must be disposed of in accordance with all applicable
waste disposal regulations.

The indoor unit (WCS cabinet) contains a refrigeration/chiller circuit with coolant media.
Only qualitifed service personnel (e.g. authorized aircondition dealer) is allowed to per‐
form any service work and/or replacement of parts in this refrigeration circuit.
=> Contact a local dealer for any service work.
=> A recommended service contact list can be found in the spare parts catalogue under
the WCS w-a-split component.
The primary water circuit between the indoor unit (WCS cabinet) and the outdoor unit
(fan cooler) contains antifreeze (40% glycole).
Therefore the replacement of all parts in this water circuit that require a draining and re‐
filling of the water circuit has to be executed by qualified service personnel (e.g. aircon‐
dition service).
Antifreeze-enhanced cooling water must be disposed accordingly.
Operating the WCS water pump without water (e.g. during filling/refilling the gantry)
Do not operate the system in customer mode at the increased water pressure as used for
the test.
Always return the water pressure to the nominal operating pressure of 2.0 bar ± 0.2 bar,
with the heat exchanger switched off.

instructions. This pump kit will be automatically delivered when an order is placed for
the old pump and it is out of stock.
Two water pumps are installed in the WCS cabinet (indoor unit):
