 About Our College

Education is the key to creating, adapting and spreading knowledge in all

the disciplines and subjects. Keeping this objectives in mind. Arts, Commerce
& Science College Koradi was started by the sincere efforts of founder chairman
of Shri Sachhidanand Shikshan Sanstha, Dr.B.B Taywade in 1993. The College
is affiliated to Nagpur University since its inception. The college has been
granted permanent affiliation to Nagpur University from the year 2002. Junior
College in Arts and Science faculty (Permanently on Non Grant Basis) is also
attached the college from 2002. Arts, Commerce & Science College, Koradi is one of
the premier and leading educational institution in rural area, having classes from
11th to Postgraduate Course in Arts faculty, having classes from 11the to under
Graduate courses in Science faculty and under Graduate Course in Commerce
faculty. In addition to that the college is running Post Graduate Courses in Science,
Commerce, Computer Science and Library Science and Information. The
college has successfully completed 10 years of its service to the cause of education
particularly in rural area. It has got sufficient infrastructural facilities such as
very specious building with well-equipped laboratories and library, qualified staff
and extensive play ground with proper facilities for all the games and
sports recommended by Physical Education Dept. of Nagpur University. Shri
Sachhidanand Shikshan Sanstha has started Diploma in Pharmacy from 2006 and
Taywade. College of Pharmacy from 2007 (formerly known as College of Pharmacy).

The report also contains the basic marketing strategies that are used by the

and government policies. The report includes some of the key salient features of

market trend issues. In today’s world of cut throat fierce competition, it is very

essential to not only exist but also to excel in the market. Today’s market’s

enormously more complex. Hence forth, to survive in the market, the company not

only needs to maximize its profit but also need to satisfy its customers and should try

to build upon there.

1.1 Introduction
Finance touches every aspect of our life and holds the key to all activities. It
has been described as the life blood of any business. The blood in our body needs to
be regulated to ensure smooth circulation for health survival. Management of finance
in a optimal manner is inevitable for success of any business. The finance function
has been defined differently by different writers and differently over time. According
to G.L. Jones, the most simplest way of understanding finance is to say that finance
is what finance does. L.J. Gitman has defined finance as the art and science of
managing money. The only conclusion one mat make with respect to finance is that
it has a marvellous ability to evoke different concepts in the minds of men.

1.2 MEANING AND DEFINITION OF FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT

Financial management means money management. Financial management is

concerned with the planning and controlling of the financial resources of the
business firm. The term financial management has emerged from the generic
discipline of management.

According to James Van Horne, “Financial management connotes responsibility

for obtaining and effectively utilizing funds necessary for the efficient operation of an
enterprise.”

According to I.M. Pandey: “Financial management is that managerial activity which

is concerned with the planning and controlling of the firm’s financial resources”.

Definitions of Financial Management

The simple definition of Financial Management is `the ways and means of

managing money’. This statement can be further expanded to define Financial
Management: the determination, acquisition, allocation and utilization of the financial
resources with the aim of achieving the goals and objectives of the enterprise.
