What does the “Cry of Balintawak” or “Cry of Pugadlawin” signify?

The cry of Balintawak or Pugadlawin denote the desire of the Filipinos to be free from
Spanish government in the Philippines. The Katipuneros tore their cedula saying long
live Philippine independence signifying their protest against Spanish Colonial rule.
Furthermore, the tearing of the cedula symbolized that the revolution was start and the
enslavement of the Filipinos are going to be terminated.
