COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course presents Mathematics differently on how it was presented in college the previous years. It aims to teach the course as an interesting subject that shows
Mathematics exists everywhere and always being applied on our daily living.
At the beginning of this course, the nature of Mathematics will be explained, including its language. The succeeding topics will show that problem solving is not merely
memorizing formulas and imitating formulas, but involves recognizing patterns and comprehensive reasoning such as inductive and deductive. Statistical tools will also be
presented on this course to show how numerical data can be interpreted to describe phenomenon and predict values. By exploring more, it will help us to appreciate that
Mathematics is included in our daily living such as managing personal finances, making social choices, understanding codes used in data transmission and security and
others.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:
In this course, students will be able to learn the nature and language of Mathematics, what it is, how it is expressed and represented and used. Students are
expected to learn the importance of mathematics and its application on a daily basis. Through problem solving, they will also gain different strategies in
solving real life problems. Students will be equipped with the ability to make informed decisions and precise choices that are based on concrete figures.
This course also aims that the subject Mathematics will be more appreciated and the students will develop positive attitudes towards mathematics.
