1. LT-06: AUDIBLE TEST DIRECT PRESSURE TECHNIQUE

1. Extent of examination: 100% of equipment specified.

2. Equipment:

• Test gas is air _____, N2 _____, Line Commodity _____ = __________.

• Ultraprobe 2000.

3. Surface cleanliness: no special cleaning required.

4. Method or Technique:

• Equipment will be pressurized and in service or out of service and pressurized to normal
operating pressure using compressed air or nitrogen.

Note: Inert gas may be used. Safety aspects of oxygen deficient atmospheres should
be considered.

• Scan equipment being tested as described in the Ultraprobe 2000 literature.

• Focus in on leaks using appropriate fixtures in the Ultraprobe kit.

• Report and map any leaks detected. Consider secondary test methods to confirm leaks.

5. Test is considered acceptable if no leaks are found.

6. No post cleaning required.

7. Where repairs are required the equipment will be depressurized, repaired in accordance with the
applicable code section and the test repeated.
