1. LT-07: HYDROSTATIC TEST PRESSURE CALIBRATION (ASME B31.3)

The hydrostatic test pressure at any point in the piping system shall be as follows:

Not less than 1 1/2 times the design pressure.

For design temperature exceeding the test temperature, the minimum test pressure shall be calculated by the
equation below, except that the value of ST/S shall not exceed 6.5.

PT = 1.5 P ST/S

Where PT = Minimum hydrostatic test gauge pressure (psig)


P = Internal design gauge pressure (psig)
ST = Stress value at design temperature (ksi) from table A-1
S = Stress value at design temperature (ksi) from table A-1
